A HEALTHY DIET FOR THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT

Let’s face it: Eating healthy is something that should be done during all times of the year. The holidays, however, often mark a time when many people drift away from what they normally do. The holidays are often a time when people begin to lose some of their inhibitions, and some often will see the holiday times as an excuse to become gluttons. Though the psychology of such a dynamic is beyond the scope of a short article such as this, there are some tips that can help with that urge to become a holiday-oriented eating machine. A seven-day diet plan can really help get everything back on track and to avoid that urge to become a glutton. As a New Year’s resolution, a seven-day diet may be awesome.

A seven-day diet plan for the holidays, though it can be useful at any other time of the year, may go something like this. Since breakfast is the first meal of the day, let’s start with that. Instead of a typical breakfast meal, it may be time to think about fruit smoothies and yogurt. If you want it a bit sweet, a bran muffin can do. Next comes lunch, and for that salads are recommended. A grand salad full of the typical vegetables and topped off with balsamic vinegar? Now, doesn’t that sound good? It doesn’t end there, however. Dinner is sometimes a source of glutton, especially for the holidays. Turkey is more than fine, and so is cranberry sauce. Just lay off the indulgent use of gravies and stuffing.
